The actual killer of a dredger trader has been arrested in Chandpur. Chandpur Model Police have arrested Khorshed Alam of Noakhali, the real killer of Rehan Uddin from the spot of Track Road Khan Bari Road in Chandpur.
Using information technology, Chandpur Model Police arrested him from Shahjahan Gazi’s hostel in Professor Para Majhi Bari area of Chandpur city on Wednesday evening.
Police suspect that Rehan Uddin was killed for sharing gambling money. So it came true.
According to a source, Khorshed Alam of Ramganj in Noakhali lost more than half a lakh taka in a gamble with Rehan Uddin who was killed a few months ago.
Khorshed Alam planned to kill Rehan Uddin for the lost money. According to the plan, Rehan stayed at his house last Thursday night talking to him about gambling. Khorshed killed Rehan Uddin by hitting him on the head and various parts of his body.
It is learned that the arrested Khorshed Alam admitted that he used to ride an auto bike in Chandpur city.
At the same time, he confessed to killing Rehan Uddin.
Meanwhile, on the day of the incident, Rehan Uddin’s first wife Parveen Begum filed a murder case. Police arrested four people, including Rehan Uddin’s second wife Swapna Begum, as suspects in the case and sent them to jail.
Chandpur Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Abdur Rashid said, “We arrested him along with gambling cards and other intoxicants. Detained Khorshed Alam has confessed to killing Rehan Uddin after losing a gamble.”
