Knee water in Chandpur town when it rains.Due to continuous rains and tides in Chandpur, waterlogging has occurred in different parts of the city. The city dwellers have suffered in this.
It rained profusely last Saturday night. The low lying areas of the city including Bishnodi Madrasa Road, Nazir Para, Professorpara, Mominpara, Rahmatpur Colony, Chandpur Government College Road, Muktijoddha Road, Truck Road, Palbazar, Kalibari have been submerged due to rain and tidal water.
Shah Mohammad Shoaib, a senior observer at the Chandpur Meteorological Office, said Chandpur had received 81 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. Of this, 57 mm rainfall was recorded from 6:00 am to 10:00 am on Sunday.
According to the city dwellers, waterlogging occurs in the rain water every year during the monsoon season. This condition is mainly due to improper drainage system and unplanned digging.
Residents of Bishnodi Madrasa Road said that they had to suffer due to the accumulation of rain water on the road. Dirty water comes out of the drain due to non-drainage. We have to move this water regularly.
