Inauguration of Bangabandhu Gate at Chandpur. ‘Bangabandhu Gate’ has been inaugurated in Chandpur on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birthday and National Children’s Day.
Guests including Chandpur Zilla Parishad Chairman Alhaj Osman Goni Patwary inaugurated the gate by laying a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu on Wednesday, March 17 at noon.
This is the first Bangabandhu Gate to be set up on the Chandpur-Cumilla road at a cost of Tk. 75 lakh in Baburhat area at the entrance of Chandpur town with the funding of Chandpur District Council.
Later, a discussion meeting was held at the district council premises. At this time Bangabandhu’s birthday celebrated.
Acting Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman, Additional Superintendent of Police Kazi Abdur Rahim, District Council Executive Officer Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, District Awami League President Nasir Uddin Ahmed and General Secretary Abu Nayeem Dulal Patwary were present on the occasion.
