Loan disbursement in agricultural production sector in Chandpur

Total 89 crore 11 lakh loan disbursement in agricultural production sector in Chandpur. The meeting of the district agriculture committee was held on October 22 at 3:30 pm through Zoom Apps organized by the regional office of Chandpur Sonali Bank. The chief guest was Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner of Chandpur Md. Majedur Rahman Khan. Sonali Bank AGM Md. Khaledur Rahman presided over the function.

Bangladesh Bank has allocated Tk. 238 crore 2 lakh 88 thousand to state-owned and private banks in 8 upazilas of Chandpur for disbursement of Tk. 10 crore 70 lakh in agricultural production and poverty alleviation sector in FY 2020-21. 89 crore 11 lakh 58 thousand taka has been distributed till October 2020. Which is 30 percent of the allocation rate.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman, Deputy General Manager of Janata Bank Md. Shah Alam Majumder, Chief General Manager of Bangladesh Krishi Bank Md. Hayat Mahmud Khan, Deputy General Manager of Agrani Bank Ltd. Regional Office Begum Gita Majumder were also present on the occasion.

Every financial year, Bangladesh Bank allocates to the scheduled public and private banks of the country in the field of agriculture and poverty alleviation. The concerned banks distribute the allocation at a proportional rate and to meet the demand. There are also guidelines on how to provide loans in all sectors.

The information was presented by the District Guardian Bank Sonali Bank at a coordination meeting of the regional offices of all the banks at a joint meeting of the Chandpur District Agriculture Credit Committee from the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Room.

According to the information received, Sonali, Agrani, Janata, Bangladesh Krishi, Rupali, Basic, Karmasangsthan, BRDB and 20 privately run banks in Chandpur and 7 state-owned or government-run banks and 24 private banks have been directed to disburse Tk. 238.2 crore in agricultural production sector.
