British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new national lockdown in England amid a new wave of coronavirus infections. Until the vaccine is distributed to the public, the lockdown has been imposed to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection so that the health sector do not collapse, the Prime Minister said.
This was reported by the British media BBC.
On Wednesday, january 05 in the morning, the new lockdown directive issued by the Prime Minister will become law. As a result, everyone in England has to stay home without an urgent reason for a lockdown. School-college will be closed. Students will take classes and exams through online.
Scotland, on the other hand, has already issued instructions to stay at home. In most cases in Wales, school-college closures have been announced until 18 January. Schools in Northern Ireland also have an online education system. And its deadline will be extended.
The UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that the lockdown could continue until mid-February. “The coming weeks could be the ‘most difficult’ for us as infections and patient numbers continue to rise.Hospitals have been under the most pressure since the onset of the epidemic,” he said.
However, Boris Johnson believes that this lockdown will be the last stage of the struggle for the country.
Meanwhile, coronavirus vaccination has begun across the UK. The British Prime Minister said four types of people on the priority list would be vaccinated by mid-February.
