131 crore loan for agriculture-poverty alleviation to 26,000 recipients in Chandpur.In the current fiscal year 2020-21 in Chandpur, out of 28 thousand recipients in 6 months, the banks have disbursed Tk. 131 crore as loan to the agriculture and poverty alleviation sector. The sectors are: Agriculture, Fisheries, Rabi Crop Production, Poultry and Animal Husbandry, Nursery, Pulses, Spices and Oilseeds, National Business Production, Small Business Management and Poverty Alleviation for daily income generation or any other productive activities.
According to the regional offices of Sonali, Agrani, Janata and Krishi Banks in Chandpur, the state-owned banks in 6 upazilas of the district have disbursed Tk. 131.25 crore in the six months from July to December in the fiscal year 2020-21. Meanwhile, the banks have earned Tk. 82.49 crore in one year.
248 crore 72 lakh 88 thousand taka has been allocated to those banks in the financial year 2020-21.
On the other hand, in the branches of those banks, till July-December of the year 2020-21, it has collected Tk. 107.52 crore including arrears from various customer rates.
A bank official of Agrani Bank said, “Agrani Bank is in constant touch with its customers to collect various categories of loans. As the bank officials are collecting the loan, they are also giving the loan immediately.”
