Former health minister Mohammed Nasim is no more.Former health minister and Awami League presidium member Mohammed Nasim is no more. Fought with death for eight days and breathed his last at Shyamoli Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in the capital at 11:00 am on Saturday, 13 June (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun).
Mir Mosharraf Hossain, Mohammed Nasim’s personal assistant secretary, confirmed the matter.
Director General of Bangladesh Specialized Hospital Al Imran Chowdhury said that the doctors on duty declared Mohammed Nasim dead at 11:10 am.
On June 01, Awami League presidium member Mohammed Nasim received a positive report. Earlier, Mohammed Nasim was admitted to Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in Shyamoli with ‘physical weakness’.
He suffered a brain hemorrhage on the morning of June 05 and underwent rapid surgery. He has been in a deep unconscious state since the surgery. He was breathing artificially with the help of a ventilation machine.
The veteran Awami League leader was being treated under close observation on the advice of a 13-member medical board headed by
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor and renowned neurosurgeon Professor Kanak Kanti Barua.
