1493 crore remittance achieved last year in Chandpur.From 84 branches of 5 banks from January-june in the fiscal year of 2019-2020 session foreign remittance achieved taka 1493 crore and earned taka 74 crore. With this, Islami Bank Chandpur branch received remittance Tk 227 crore .

According to the regional office of the concerned bank,the agricultural bank 28 branches earned Tk 15,62,00,000 and foreign remittance taka 42,1600,000 .

Sonali Bank 20 branches from January-December the profit was Tk 25,6600,000 and the foreign remittance earned Tk 311,42,00,000 .

Agrani bank 17 branches from upto june the profit was Tk 17,10,00,000 and the foreign remittance earned Tk 617,50,00,000 .

janata bank 20 branches from upto june the profit was Tk 15,62,00,000 and the foreign remittance earned Tk 295,18,00,000 .

According to sources in the Manpower and Employment Office of Chandpur, 2 lakh 60 thousand laborers are working in different countries of the world including the Middle East.They transmit remittances from their work place to their nearest relatives through a bank branch.

Immigrants of Chandpur send these remittances every month through various agencies of Bangladesh Bank.

Assistant General Manager Gitarani Majumdar told ‘Chandpur Times’, “The bank is able to pay the required amount of money to its customers within minutes of sending the money. The remittance sent by the migrants are turning the wheel of the country’s economy. Liquidity is flowing between banks. Business organizations are having a positive impact . At present, Agrani Bank is collecting money through booths and distributing loans in new ways. ”

Md. Hayat Mahmood Khan, chief regional general manager of Bangladesh Krishi Bank said, “Bangladesh Krishi Bank is providing services to the customers.

Sonali Bank AGM Nikhil Krishna Nandi said, “The government receives benefits from service charges, DD commissions, TT commissions, payment of various social programs, allowances, deposits and remittances. Sonali Bank provides 28 customer services.
