The army is always ready to defend the integrity of the country.Army Chief Aziz Ahmed said that the army was always ready and capable of maintaining the integrity of Bangladesh. He told this to reporters at a ceremony at the Ghatail Shaheed Salauddin Cantonment in Tangail on Tuesday morning.
“The army is being modernized in line with the era and the Bangladesh Army is currently in second position in the peacekeeping mission,” he said.
He also said that the Bangladesh Army is getting stronger.
Earlier, when the army chief appeared at the parade ground, the GOC Major General Mizanur Rahman Shamim of the 19th Infantry Division welcomed him. Later, a combined squadron of the 19th Infantry Division led by parade commander Lieutenant Colonel Khandaker Mostafizur Rahman displayed the march and saluted the army chief.
Giving congratulations to the Army Chief Regimental Colored Units and said, ‘Receiving regimental color is a rare honor and a sacred deposit for any unit. He also instructed the units to be prepared to protect the status of the flag received in recognition of their skill, hard work and duty, and to accept the highest sacrifice for any need of patriotism’.
Tangail Deputy Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam Police Superintendent Sanjit Kumar Roy and other army officers were present on the occasion.
