Vitamin A Plus Campaign has started in Chandpur

Vitamin A Plus Campaign has started in Chandpur from today. The fortnight-long National Vitamin A Plus Campaign has started in Chandpur as well as across the country. During the 15-day program, 2,339 centers in Chandpur started feeding blue vitamin A capsules to children aged 6 to 11 months and red vitamin A capsules to children aged 12 to 59 months for 15 days.

5,778 health workers will be in charge. The respective UH and NP mass centers will be in charge from the present. At the same time, as part of the campaign to spread the message of ‘Feeding a balanced amount of home-made food in addition to breast milk when the baby is 6 months old’.

This information was given the Civil Surgeon’s Office. A source in the Chandpur Civil Surgeon’s Office said that in order to successfully implement the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign, one health worker and one volunteer will work at the center to bring more than 3 lakh children under the Vitamin A Plus campaign in Chandpur district. In addition, medical officers will monitor.

In order to make this campaign a successful, miking has been done in all upazilas, unions and municipal areas of Chandpur district from the health department and union parishad and municipalities. This time there is no itinerant vaccination center like last year. Vitamin A capsules will be fed at EPI centers. Besides, Vitamin A capsules will also be given to the Upazila Sadar Hospital and Upazila Health Complexes.

Civil Surgeon Sakhawat Ullah said, ‘All the volunteers must follow the hygiene rules and those who will bring the children will also come to the center following the hygiene rule.’
