264 deaths reported in last 24 hours

264 deaths in Corona, 11 thousand 164 identified. Coronavirus has killed 264 more people across the country in the last 24 hours. The death toll from the virus rose to 23,161 people.

Of the 264 people killed in 24 hours, 154 were men and 110 were women. Of these, 192 died at government hospitals, 62 at private hospitals and 10 at home. The death rate in the last 24 hours is 1.68 percent.

At this time, 11 thousand 164 new patients have been identified as infected with corona. With this, the total number of identities in the country increased to 13 lakh 76 thousand 322 people.

This information was given in a press release signed by Additional Director General (Administration) of the Department of Health Professor Nasima Sultana on Tuesday, August 10.

In the last 24 hours, 48,416 samples were collected and 47,424 samples were tested in 708 public and private laboratories across the country. The total number of sample tests stood at 82 lakh 12 thousand 41.

In the last 24 hours, the detection rate in the sample test is 23.54 percent. Since the first patient was identified on March 8 last year, the total detection rate has been 16.74 percent.

The notification further said that 14,903 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of patients who recovered after being infected with coronavirus in the country after treatment is 12 lakh 34 thousand 762 people. The recovery rate in 24 hours is 89.71 percent.

Corona was first identified in Bangladesh on March 8 last year. Ten days later, the Department of Health announced the death of one person in the virus.
