Soon the 12-km eviction of the ‘Wapda’ barrage at Chandpur.In Chandpur, evacuation operations will be launched against 227 illegal occupant, about 12 km from the Faridganj upazila part of ‘Wapda Borpit Canal’.
Chandpur district administration, water development board and police will jointly conduct the operation on December 23.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman confirmed the matter.
On the afternoon of December 9 (Monday), under the direction of Majedur Rahman Khan various points of the canals were inspected and started the process of issuing notices to the next agenda and illegal occupants.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman, Executive Engineer of the Water Development Board Abu Raihan, Faridganj Upazila Executive Officer Shuli Hari, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sharmin Akhter, Land Office and other officials of the Water Development Board were present there.
Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman said, The Ministry of Water Resources will monitor the overall activities of all rivers and canals in the country, under the direction of the Prime Minister.
