Chandpur District Administration, Fisheries Department, Naval Police, Coast Guard, Chandpur Sadar Fisheries Department, Haimchar Fisheries Department, Matlab North and South Fisheries Departments have conducted 9 operations in the last 24 hours.
Information has been given from the monitoring cell of Chandpur district fisheries department till 11 am on March 05.
15 kg of jatka, 3 lakh and 17 thousand meters of current net has been seized. Its current value is 63 lakh taka. The jatkas have been distributed to local orphanages. In addition, 2 cases have been registered and 7 people have been sent to jail.
Chandpur District Fisheries Officer Md. Asadul Bari, referring to the national slogan, said, Drought of all types of fish at certain times of the year in hilsa sanctuaries is a criminal offense.’
