Justice Minister Of Gambia Appreciates Sheikh Hasina

Justice Minister Of Gambia appreciates Sheikh Hasina.Gambia’s Attorney General and Justice Minister Abubakar Mari Tamadu has expressed gratitude to the government and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for providing refugees to the minority Rohingya Muslims in Bangladesh who have fled Myanmar’s persecution.

He expressed his gratitude on Friday in a response to the Voice of America.

The International Judicial Court (ICJ) on Thursday ordered Myanmar to implement a four-point directive to end the Rohingya genocide in Rakhine and protect the ethnic group.

The ICJ heard the order in response to the country’s application for a hearing on the Gambia lawsuit alleging Rohingya genocide.

Gambia accuses Myanmar of breaching the International Genocide Convention of the Year 1984.

In response to this, Justice of the Gambia Abubakar Mari Tamabadu said, “I am grateful to Bangladesh on behalf of me and the Gambia people.

We are grateful for the support given by the Bangladesh government and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in this whole process. ”

The Minister also said, “We are grateful for the way Bangladesh has provided assistance to the Rohingya refugees, not just us. We hope this support will continue and that we can make a difference in the lives of the Rohingya people.

It is the Justice Minister of the tiny African state of Gambia who sued Myanmar in the International Judicial Court.

At the UN General Assembly session on September 2018 , he remarked that with the genocide of Rwanda, he was finding brutality similar to that of the Rohingya. Therefore, there is no way to take Myanmar to court.

Abubakar Mari Tambadu and Gambia’s Foreign Minister Mamadu Tengara have been instrumental in convicting Myanmar for crimes against humanity against the Rohingya.
