Police arrested 8 gamblers on Sunday night on the basis of secret information in Saharpar village of Gohat South Union No. 11 in Kachua upazila of Chandpur.
On the instructions of OC Mohiuddin, SI Mamunur Rashid Sarkar of Kachua police, a special operation conducted with allied forces and arrested them. Police seized Tk. 5,700 in cash and a bundle of cards.
The arrested gamblers are Kamal Hossain, Sohag Mia, Sumon Hossain, Monir Hossain, Rajib Hossain, Liton, Sohel Rana of Saharpara village, Ismail Bhuiyan of Tetaiya village and Monir Hossain of Uchit Gaba village.
Kachua police OC Mohiuddin said that the arrested gamblers have been sent to Chandpur jail. He also said that the operation will continue.
