During this time, procurement, marketing, transportation, purchase and sale, exchange, and storage of Hilsa will also be prohibited across the country.
A total of 15 to 17 days before and after the full moon of the month of Ashwin is the real-time for laying Hilsa eggs.
At that time, Hilsa came rushing to the river from the sea. Considering this time, the government has banned Hilsa fishing for a total of 22 days this year as every year. At this time, the government has instructed to stop all kinds of fishing, including Hilsa, in all the rivers of the country to give the Hilsa a chance to lay eggs easily.
