Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Day was declared on March 17, 2020 in the Canadian capital, Ottawa. Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson officially declared the day as Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Day, in response to a request from the Bangladesh Canada Association of Ottawa Valley (BACAOV).
BACAOV president Shah Bahauddin Shishir said, ‘A ceremony will be held on March 17, 2020 at Ottawa City Hall to celebrate the birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and acceptance of two copies of the declaration from the mayor of Ottawa.
The declaration will be sent by the BACAOV to Bangabandhu Museum. He also said, ‘cultural event will be organized by BACAOV on March 28, 2020 to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
