Bangladeshi expatriate dead in Iraq.The country’s military has mistakenly killed one Bangladeshi, thought to be a member of the Islamic State (IS) militant group in Iraq. In addition, 3 Bangladeshis were also arrested from the scene.
The incident took place in the southeastern Kurdish city of Mosul province. The Bangladeshi was on his way to Makhmur area in Kurdistan. However, shortly after entering the area, an Iraqi army patrol fired shots at IS militants, thinking they were IS.
According to the bus source, Bangladeshi workers were walking to Makhmur on Tuesday night. At that time, members of the Iraqi army opened fire on the IS militants. Rakhikar Mohammad, mayor of Makhmour, confirmed the arrest of Bangladeshi workers.
