5 crore fake drugs and substandard mask seized.A RAB mobile court has seized fake drugs and substandard masks worth around Tk 10 million during an overnight raid in the Mitford area.
The operation, which began on Wednesday night, continued till midnight. The operation was led by RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam. The expedition went to the sound market of Mitford.
Regarding the expedition, he said that there were no illegal, fake, substandard and import-prohibited drugs in the name of various brand names, rather than rules and regulations. The drugs were supplied to various pharmacies in the capital. Therefore, the Godown owner is being sued under the Special Powers Act.
He said consuming these drugs would be harmful to the human body, so they have been seized. Some substandard masks were also found in the operation. However, before arriving at the expedition, 8 of the crew escaped.
RAB, meanwhile, launched a raid in the same market on Tuesday. They sealed two godowns because of expired and fake drugs.
On Wednesday night, he went to the godown and found that the silagala godown had been broken and the luggage was being removed. A businessman named Babul was arrested in the incident.
