Bangladesh’s first hajj flight reaches Saudi Arabia

Biman flight BG 3001 lands at King Abdul Aziz International Airport after departing Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, pilgrims warmly received by officials

The first hajj flight of Bangladesh has reached Saudi Arabia with 419 pilgrims in the early hours on Saturday (local time).

Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG 3001 landed at King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah at 4:20am (local time) on Saturday, said a Religious Affairs Ministry press release here on Saturday.

Upon their arrival at Jeddah airport, the Bangladeshi pilgrims were welcomed by the Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Md Delwar Hossain and Councilor (Hajj) Md Kamrul Islam.

The pilgrims were greeted with flowers while refreshment kits were given to them.

Among others, Consul General of Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah Md Sakhawat Hossain and Assistant Seasonal Hajj Officer Md Ruhul Amin, were present.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated Hajj Flight-2026 at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:30pm on Friday.
