In Chandpur the number of corona identities in the police exceeded half a hundred.Police officers and members have been on full-time duty at Chandpur district headquarters and upazila level to prevent the coronavirus situation. After the increase in corona infection, the police members started getting infected in stages. The number of victims has exceeded half a hundred.
As of Saturday (June 20th), 54 officers and members of the Chandpur district police have been infected by Corona. But at first the police had to work even though they did not have personal protection. Later, all the police members were given PPE, masks etc. for personal protection.
According to the Civil Surgeon’s Office, 15 policemen were diagnosed with coronavirus on Saturday. Among them there are 12 members of Chandpur district police. Earlier, 42 members of the district police were attacked. The remaining 3 police members are from another unit.
Chandpur Model Police Officer in Charge (OC) Nasim Uddin said that 8 officers and members of Model Police Station were infected with Coronavirus. They have all been tax-free with treatment. At present they are all fulfilling their responsibilities.
Haimchar police OC said Several officers and members including Zahirul Islam are undergoing treatment for corona. Several of them are undergoing treatment in the isolation unit of Chandpur Government General Hospital.
Superintendent of Police Mahbubur Rahman said 54 members of the district police had been infected with the coronavirus till Saturday. Of these, about 18 members have already recovered.
