The government has allowed all cinema halls in the country, which have been closed for seven months due to the coronavirus outbreak, to reopen from Friday ,October 16 in compliance with health regulations.
The information was given in a letter signed by Deputy Secretary of the Information Ministry Saiful Islam on Wednesday.
It said, “In the current situation of Covid-19, permission has been given to screen the film in cinema halls across the country from October 16 (Friday) subject to maintain proper hygiene, ensuring social distance and keeping vacant halls.
Earlier, in a meeting with the concerned person of the film industry, the final decision on the opening of the cinema hall will be taken after discussions with the Prime Minister, said the Information Minister.
