4,500 hectares of crops land destroyed in Chandpur

In Chandpur, 4,500 hectares of crops land were destroyed. Due to the cyclone, 4,500 hectares of land in all Upazilas of Chandpur district have been destroyed. It has damaged 20,920 MT of various crops.

Initially, the estimated amount of money from the loss of damaged crops is 441 crores 72 lakh 65 thousand taka.

This information was given by Naresh Chandra Das, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer, Department of Agricultural Extension, Chandpur on December 20 at noon.

According to the information received, seedbeds of the boro, potato, mustard, wheat, onion, chili, and other winter vegetables of the farmers have been severely affected by the cyclone Jawad in all the Upazilas of Chandpur since the beginning of this year.

Of these, 332 hectares of boro seedbeds have been damaged. The estimated amount of loss is 4 lakh 15 thousand taka.

One hundred and ninety-five farmers have lost 21 hectares of wheat worth TK. 1 lakh 31 thousand. One hundred hectares of onion crops have been damaged. The estimated amount of loss is worth taka 21 thousand. One hundred and three hectares of pepper crops have been damaged. The estimated amount of loss is 1 lakh 64 thousand taka. 428 hectares of other crops have been damaged. The estimated amount of loss is 3 crore 42 lakh 40 thousand taka.
