55 lakh meters illegal current net seized in Chandpur.The Chandpur Naval Police is conducting operations in the Padma and Meghna rivers to protect the Jatka and against illegal current nets.

On Tuesday, April 27, 55 lakh meters of illegal current nets were seized and a boat was sunk in the river. The operation was conducted in the Padma and Meghna rivers under the leadership of Md. Kamruzzaman, Superintendent of Police, Chandpur Naval Area from noon to afternoon.

At the beginning of the operation, several lakh meters of illegal current nets were seized from the Tila Bari area in front of the naval police station area.

Later, he conducted a four-hour expedition to Padma River in Rajarajeshwar, Laxmirchar and Mohanpur areas and seized a large quantity of current nets. In addition, a number of fishing boats were chased in Rajrajeshwar area and one of the boats was seized and sunk in the river.

The others were destroyed in the fire of the seized nets.

Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Belayet, Additional Superintendent of Police (Circle) Mohammad Helal Uddin and Acting Deputy Inspector in charge of Chandpur Naval Police Station Mohammad Zahirul Islam were also present.
