Two special investigative teams have been formed to investigate the incidents of violence. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that the victims of the violence will be compensated. It has been announced to provide financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakhs to the deceased elderly family and Rs. 5 lakhs to the minor families.

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court has given the central government 4 weeks to file an FIR against the BJP leaders. The Center has sought extra time to lodge an FIR against the BJP leaders over allegations of incitement.

Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and other leaders went to President Ram Nath Kovind’s residence on Thursday calling for peace and order in Delhi. After the meeting with the President, the interim president of the Congress Sonia Gandhi said, “We have given the President a memorandum. The central and Delhi government is behaving like a silent spectator. The President has assured to take our demands seriously.”

In this regard, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said such incidents are a national shame. “We have informed the President about what’s going on in Delhi for the last four days,” he added. That is very worrying. The failure of the central government has echoed.

Last Sunday, clashes between supporters of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) began, but it gradually turned into communal violence. The number of dead is increasing daily. At least seven people were reported Thursday.

On the other hand, foreigners have attacked and torched a mosque in Ashoknagar, northeast Delhi. They set fire to the homes and shops of Muslims in the area only. Local Hindus have said that they do not know any of the foreigners, and in such a situation, everyone will be with the homeless Muslims.

The miscreants attacked the Muslim families of Ashoknagar last Tuesday. Earlier, a group of at least 1,000 people entered the area and set fire to a mosque. At least 20 people were praying in the mosque.

The Modi government passed the controversial citizenship amendment bill in December last year. From then on the discussion and criticism began. There has been panic among Muslims since the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act. Critics claim that this law is against the Constitution of India. Because of this law, Muslims are terrified that they may be seen as second class citizens in Modi’s India.

CAA protesters blocked the road in Zafarabad last Saturday. The rally began in favor of the CAA on Sunday. Only then did the clash between the two parties begin. And these protests turned into conflict and Delhi became a battleground.

The ruling BJP party in the country has termed them as traitors because the Muslims of India protested against the citizenship law. Several BJP leaders demand that those who are anti-CAA should be shot dead. It has also been alleged that these citizens are involved with Pakistan, an ever-enemy country.

US President Donald Trump has visited Delhi in the wake of the riots. He made a two-day state visit to India. He was also upset when he was meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Tuesday. At a news conference in central Delhi, President Trump has lashed out at Modi’s efforts for maintaining religious freedom. It was then that the northeast of Delhi became heated in violence.
