Young men and women were detained in Kachua with huge amounts of drugs. Police have arrested two persons named Shafiqul Islam Sheikh and Minu Akhter along with 14 kg of cannabis and 35 pieces of phensedyl at Kachua in Chandpur.
On Sunday morning, November 14, based on the secret information Kachua police SI Delwar Hossain and his accomplices raided the Cumilla-Chandpur highway and arrested the two persons.
The detainees are Shafiqul Islam Sheikh, son of Rostam Ali Sheikh of Khandarpar village in Muksedpur Upazila of Gopalganj and Minu Akhter, daughter of Abu Taher of Joymangalpur village in Chauddagram Upazila of Cumilla.
Kachua police OC said the investigation Sannwar Hossain said that Shafiul Islam Sheikh and Minu Akhter were arrested with cannabis and phensedyl on the basis of secret information.
A case has been filed against the accused and they have been sent to Jail.
