A robbery took place in three houses in Hajiganj of Chandpur late at night. At least 10 members of the three families were knocked unconscious and the robbers snatched some amount of money and gold.
The incident took place on November 3 at around 3 am.
It is learned that the gang of robbers used the spray in three rooms of the house at the same time to make everyone unconscious. At least 10 members of three families became unconscious.
The injured are the son of the late Abu Taher Patwary of the Sardar Bari. Sabuj, his wife Saifur Nesha, daughter Firoza Akhter Bithi, Kaniz Fatema, son Saiful Islam, and Nahyan. They were made unconscious and 5 tons of gold and 2 lakh taka in cash were looted.
Injured Sabuj Mia said, “I saw around 4 pm on Wednesday that 4/5 masked people had ransacked the house. Everyone in the family next door is lying unconscious in the bedroom. After a while, I fainted. I woke up in the morning and saw 10 members of three families lying unconscious. Later, the police came and admitted all the unconscious people to the Upazila Sadar Hospital.”
Local UP member Monir Hossain said, “After receiving the news, I went to the spot and saw that everyone was unconscious. I informed the police station later.”
Hajiganj Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harunur Rashid said, “We sent seven people from the spot to the Upazila Health Complex in an unconscious state. The case is being prepared on behalf of the victims.”
