The hanging body of a college teacher was recovered in Chandpur. The hanging body of Nurul Baten, teacher of Chandpur Sadar Upazila Jilani Chishti College, has been recovered. Police recovered his body from a rented house in Paschim Mandari village of Shahmahmudpur union in the upazila on Saturday, May 29 in the morning.
According to family and colleagues, Baten committed suicide. He was a lecturer in the social welfare department of Jilani Chishti College.
College principal Harunur Rashid said the incident was tragic. Lecturer Baten was a very talented teacher. The exact reason why he chose to commit suicide is not yet known. But for a long time he was ill.
Chandpur Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdur Rashid said, “The college authorities informed us about the hanging of a teacher of Jilani Chishti College. The victim’s family said he had been ill for a long time. We recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for autopsy.”
