Heavy rain forecast in three sections.Due to active monsoon, it has rained all over the country except two regions in the last 24 hours. There was light to moderate heavy and very heavy rain at this time. Cox’s Bazar received the heaviest rainfall, 155 mm; After that Kutubdia received 122 mm of rain.

Heavy (44 to 88 mm) to very heavy (above 89 mm) rain is also expected in Chittagong, Barisal and Khulna divisions in the next 24 hours from 10 am on Sunday (August 16). This information was given by the Meteorological Department in the morning.

Meanwhile, the forecast for the next 24 hours from 9:00 am today said that the apparent light pressure in the north-west Bay of Bengal and the adjoining northern Orissa-Ganges coastal West Bengal region is currently located in Jharkhand and the adjoining Gangetic West Bengal area. The monsoon axis extends from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and the epicenter to the northeastern part of Assam through Assam. An extension of this extends to the North Bay. Monsoon winds are active over Bangladesh and prevail in the North Bay.

As a result, most parts of Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and many parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions may experience light to moderate rain / thundershowers with temporary gusts. There may be moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country.

According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds are likely to blow over the coastal areas and seaports of North Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh due to active monsoon and high pressure differences. For this, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to show local signal number three. Fishing boats and trawlers stationed in the North Bay have been asked to proceed cautiously from near the coast until further notice.

The meteorological department also said that day and night temperatures across the country may remain almost unchanged.
