Hilsa crisis in Chandpur due to unplanned sand extraction

Hilsa crisis due to unplanned sand extraction and naval crisis in Chandpur. Anjana Khan Majlish, Deputy Commissioner of Chandpur said, “I want separate employment opportunities for fishermen during the prohibited times of fishing. If the fishermen were busy at that time, no one would dare to force them into the river. I want the fishermen to stay busy with their own work instead of going to jail. I have sent a letter to the ministry on these issues so that a new work plan can be worked out for the fishermen.”

She said this while exchanging views with journalists in the conference room on the occasion of National Fisheries Week in Chandpur on Saturday morning.
