In India Both Male & Female Equal Rights To Property Of Hindu Families

In India both male and female equal rights to the property of Hindu families. The Supreme Court of India has ruled in favor of the girls in the property of the much-discussed undivided Hindu family. The country’s top court on Tuesday ruled that sons and daughters would have equal rights to father’s property in Hindu families. A three-member bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra delivered the landmark judgment on the same day.

The Indian Supreme Court has ruled that under the Hindu Inheritance (Amendment) Act, 2005, girls will have recognized rights to parental property. That is, the more partners the boys have in the property, the more the girls will get.

According to the verdict, even if the father dies before the enactment of the amendment law, the equality of son and daughter will still apply. And if the daughter dies, her child will inherit that property.

This judgment of the Supreme Court is very important in India. Earlier, on September 5, 2005, the country’s top court ruled in several cases that a daughter would have a recognized right to the father’s property if both the father and the daughter were alive. The revised Hindu Inheritance Act was notified on the same day.
