In the Bay of Bengal Trawler drown: 15 bodies recovered.A trawler drowned in the Bay of Bengal near St Martin’s in Cox’s Bazar. Three bodies have been recovered so far after the accident.
The trawler drowned at around 3:30 pm on Monday February 10. Many are still missing in the incident. 63 people were rescued alive.
All the dead and missing were reported to be Rohingya.
Coast Guard sources said the Malaysian trawler contained more than a hundred Rohingya. They were taken from Shahpuri Ghat of Teknaf.
The trailer left Malaysia around 2 am. The trailer was sunk when it got close to St. Martin’s Island. The trawler is believed to have caused the Navy and Coast Guard are conducting rescue operations there, sources said.
