The health and family planning office of Chandpur Sadar Upazila was inaugurated by National Worm Control Week and health checkup program was conducted by a small number of doctors.
Chief guest of the program, Kaniz Fatema, inaugurated the worm week by feeding the worm-destroying tablets to the students at Maisadi Government Primary School at Chandpur Sadar Upazila on Thursday October 3.
Upazila Health Officer Dr Sajeda Begum Paulin addressed the special guest while chaired by Suranjit Kar, the head teacher of Mashadi Government Primary School.
Under the supervision of Upazila Health and Family Planning Office, Assistant Teacher, Zakir Hossain Fatema Akhter, Selina Akhter, Laksh Chandra Das, Muta, Md. Teachers and students, including Akhter Tanisha RA were present.
Contextually, the health department’s initiatives are providing worm-destroying tablets to children from 5 to 8 years of age in all primary, kindergarten schools, madrassas and secondary education institutes in the upazila from October 1 to October 8.
