Nominated for the Independence Day Award – 2020

Nominated for the Independence Day Award – 2020.The Government is awarding the ‘Independence Day Award-2020’ to nine prominent individuals and an organization in recognition of their glorious and credible contribution at the national level. The Cabinet Division said this in a press release on Thursday, February 20.

The nominees for the award are:

Textiles and Jute Minister Ghulam Dastgir Gazi (Bir Protik), late commander (retd.) Abdur Rauf, late Muhammad Anwar Pasha and Azizur Rahman for freedom and liberation war; Professor of medical education. Md. Obaidul Kabir Chowdhury and Professor Dr. AKMA Muktadir; Freedom fighters SM Raiz Uddin Ahmed in literature and Kalipad Das and Ferdousi Majumdar in culture. In addition, Bharatwashi Homes of Mirzapur, Tangail, is receiving the Independence Award in recognition of its contribution to education.
The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will officially hand over the award at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on March 25 at 10 am, according to a notification from the Cabinet Division.
