Sajeeb Wazed Joy will announce winners of ‘Joy Bangla Youth Award’

Sajeeb Wazed Joy will announce winners of ‘Joy Bangla Youth Award’ today .Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Information and Technology, will announce the winners of ‘Joy Bangla Youth Award-2020’ in a virtual event on Tuesday.

The award ceremony for the young people who have come forward to build the country will start at 8 pm tonight. The program will be broadcast live on several bangladeshi private broadcast channel.

Apart from this, the program will also be broadcast live from the official social media pages of several print and electronic media including Young Bangla and CRI.

Center for Research and Information (CRI) Trustee Nasrul Hamid will deliver the welcome address.

After the launch of CRI youth organization ‘Young Bangla’ in 2014, it launched ‘Joy Bangla Youth Award’ under the historical slogan of ‘Joy Bangla’.

The award was introduced to recognize the work of young people who have worked for the betterment of country and society.

From 2015 to 2018, Young Bangla presented the Joy Bangla Youth Award to 130 youth organizations for fulfilling important responsibilities towards their society.

Many of them have since won awards for their work from various international organizations.

Like another years, this time again 600 organizations of youth between the ages of 18 to 35 applied for the Joy Bangla Youth Award.

Categories are: Women Empowerment, Children’s Rights, Empowerment of Children with Special Needs, Youth Development, Development of the Poor, Building a Drug Free Society, Controlling the Corona Situation, Environmental Protection, Education, Culture, Renewable Energy Production.

50 organizations have been included in the list of winners of the Preliminary Joy Bangla Youth Award-2020.

In the first phase, ‘Joy Bangla Youth Award’ will be given in six sub-categories. The categories are women’s empowerment, child rights, empowerment of the disabled, empowerment of the disadvantaged and backward people, empowerment of the extremely poor and youth development.

In the second phase, awards will be given in seven sub-categories. Categories are anti-drug awareness activities, emergency activities to prevent novel coronavirus, environmental and climate change activities, health education and awareness activities, socio-cultural initiatives and disaster response and risk reduction.

With nearly 300,000 members, more than 50,000 volunteers and more than 315 organizations, Young Bangla aims to directly involve the younger generation in the country’s development activities in Vision 2021 and showcase their new ideas and innovations to the world.
