Two were killed in launch clashes at Chandpur. 2 people were killed and 8 others injured in two fierce clashes due to dense fog in Meghna at Chandpur. The identity of the deceased was not immediately known. Among the casualties, the remaining three passengers of the Farhan-9 launch were all identified.Clash occured between Kirthankhol-10 and Farhan-9 launch.

The accident took place on Sunday at around 1:30 pm due to heavy fog in the middle area of ​​the Dhaka-Barisal ferry route. Chandpur Naval Police Officer (OC) Abu Taher confirmed the matter.

Eyewitnesses said, ‘The Kirthankhola-10 launch from Barisal on Sunday night left Dhaka with passenger.When the launch cross Chandpur the launch was halted due to heavy fog.

At the same time, a launch named Farhan-1,pushed Kirthankhola-10 who was trapped. In the incident, the front of the kirtankhola-10 launch was twisted.

The sleeping mother and her children were killed on spot. Two other passengers were injured. Six passengers of the Farhan-9 launch were also injured.

Meanwhile, Kirtankhola Launch Manager Bellal Hossain said, ‘The accident took place in the fog as there was no modern machinery at the Farhan-9 launch. The surface of the Kirthankhola-10 launch was damaged in the collision but the floor remained oK’.
