Chandpur Times Top Newspaper in Chandpur
After a 24-hour shutdown due to the strike has resumed, passenger launches have been started on other routes including Chandpur-Dhaka.
Chandpur has left at least five launch passengers on various routes from Chandpur to midnight till Sunday morning. Another 20 launches are expected to leave Chandpur terminal at other times of the day.
Passengers said the launch staff did not plan to strike in this way for their own benefit. They suffered a lot. They do not want to fall into this new tragedy.
Launch operators, on the other hand, say they have returned to work in full compliance with their demands. Harunur Rashid, president of the Bangladesh Naval Workers Federation, Chandpur Branch, said the workers had withdrawn the strike to assure the government and the owners of their implementation.
