The Meteorological Department has forecast storms in 15 parts of the country today. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display the number one warning signal.
This information has been given in the forecast of the inland river port of the country from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday (October 08).
Rangpur, Dinajpur, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet areas are forecast to receive 45 to 60 km per hour from south or south-east. There may be temporary gusts or gusts of wind with thunderstorms. River ports in these areas have been asked to display the number one warning signal.
Besides, the forecast for Dhaka and adjoining areas from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm said that the sky may be partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy. There may be light rain or thunderstorms. The wind may blow from the south or south-east at a speed of 8 to 12 kmph, which may temporarily increase to 22 kmph. Daytime temperatures may remain almost unchanged.
