Accused of Chandpur night watchman Sumon murder case arrested

Accused of Chandpur night watchman Sumon murder case arrested. The PBI has arrested Khokon Gazi, one of the accused in the murder case of Sumon Khan, a night watchman of a private bank in Chandpur. A team from PBI, Chandpur area arrested the accused from Dhamrai in Dhaka last Thursday night on the basis of secret information.

The accused Khokon Gazi, who was arrested through a court in Chandpur on Friday afternoon, was sent to jail.

On the night of April 05, Khokon Gazi, 22, and seven others, including Sumon Khan, 34, were beaten and bloodied in the Raghunathpur area of ​​Chandpur Sadar. Sumon Khan was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. He died after four days of treatment there. Rob Khan, the elder brother of the deceased, filed a murder case with the Chandpur Model Police Station, naming eight people. However, the case was handed over to the PBI after a month-long police investigation.

In the meantime, operations were launched in different parts of the country to arrest the accused. Using the latest information technology, PBI police inspector Mir Mahbur and case investigation officer Amirul Islam were able to arrest Khokon Gazi, one of the accused in the Sumon Khan murder case, from a mess in Lalitnagar, Dhamrai.

PBI Chandpur Region Additional Superintendent of Police Junayet Kauser told the ‘Chandpur Times’ that the operation to arrest the other accused involved in the case was continuing. He added that since the murder took place in public. Therefore, after the arrest of all the accused, they will be produced in court and a confession will be obtained with a statement under section 164. In that light, a charge sheet will be filed in the court.

Incidentally, Sumon Khan was the night watchman of Standard Bank branch in Chandpur city. He has two children in addition to his centenarian mother, siblings and wife.
