First Chief of Bangladesh Navy Nurul Haque passes away

The first Chief of the Bangladesh Navy Captain (Retd.) Nurul Haque is no more (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun). He died at the Combined Military Hospital in the capital on Tuesday, january 26.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) sources confirmed the information. According to Wikipedia, he was born on February 24, 1922 in Habiganj. He took part in the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971 and led the navy.

After the independence of the country, he was the Chief of Naval Staff from 7 April 1972 to 6 November 1973. He was the former Minister of Shipping of Bangladesh.

Captain Nurul Haque was the first interim chief of the Bangladesh Navy. He retired from the post of Commodore of the Pakistan Navy in 1969.
