Several leaders of the previous Awami League committee have been promoted to the new committee.
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced the list of new committees at the party’s 21st National Council at the Engineers Institute Auditorium in the capital on Saturday.
Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, joint general secretaries of the previous committee, have been made members of the presidium. Besides, organizational secretary Shajahan Khan has been kept in the presidium.In the new committee except three, others are old faces.
Joint General Secretary has been elected as the previous Publicity Secretary Hasan Mahmood and Bahauddin Nakhim from the organizational secretary.
Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan, BM Mozammel Haque, SM Kamal Hossain and Mirza Azam are the organizational Secretary.
Of these, Abu Sayed Al Mahmud Swapan and BM Mozammel Haque were in the same post on the previous committee. SM Kamal Hossain and Mirza Azam have been the organizing secretary from the central executive members of the previous committee.
In addition, Awami League central committee member Najibullah Hiru has been the legal secretary on the new committee. Sub-divisional Secretary barrister Biplob Barua has been the office secretary. Abdus Sobhan has been the Publicity Secretary , Meher Afroz Chumki has been the female affairs secretary this time, even though she was not on the previous committee.
