In Chandpur, total 143 operations were carried out to prevent the destruction of Jatka and 26 mobile courts were conducted
Chandpur District Administration, Fisheries Department, Naval Police, Coast Guard, Chandpur Sadar Fisheries Department, Haimchar Fisheries Department, Matlab North and South Fisheries Departments have conducted 143 raids and 26 mobile courts in the last 15 days.
A report has been received from the Monitoring Cell of Chandpur District Fisheries Department at around 2 pm on March 15 and the operation is being conducted under the Jatka program.
1,798 kg of jatka and 31 lakh 44 thousand meters of current nets were seized. Its current value is 6 crore 28 lakh taka. The jatkas have been distributed to local orphanages. Besides, 39 cases have been filed. And a fine of 1 lakh 26 thousand taka has been collected. 72 people have been sent to jail.
