Shelling on the Ladakh border at midnight

Shelling on the Ladakh border at midnight. There has been another exchange of fire on the Indo-China border. The incident took place at midnight on Monday (September 07) in the Line of Actual Control on the south bank of Pangon Lake in Ladakh.

But China has accused Indian troops of firing illegally across the Line of Actual Control (LAC). A spokesman for China People’s Liberation Army said in a statement that China’s border guards had retaliated. China did not elaborate on the retaliation. There has been no response from India so far.

A spokesman for China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) alleged that Indian troops had illegally crossed the Line of Control and entered the southern shores of Pangon Lake and the Shenpao Mountains. A spokesman for the PLA’s Western Command, Senior Colonel Zhang Suili, said in a statement that during the operation, Chinese forces fired back at Chinese border patrols, forcing Indian forces to retaliate to stabilize the situation.

“We urge India to stop this dangerous move now,” the statement said.

At least twice in the past two weeks, the Chinese military has been involved in provocative activities on the southern shores of Pangon Lake in Ladakh. But India was able to thwart this attempt to unilaterally change the status quo in the LAC, a foreign ministry statement claimed. It said there were no physical clashes between the two countries’ armies during the incidents.

It may be mentioned that on June 15, Indian and Chinese army members got involved in a clash in the Galwan Valley of Ladakh. At least 20 Indian soldiers were killed. After the conflict, India and China agreed to begin the process of withdrawing troops after high-level talks between the two countries in July. But so far that process has not been completed.
