Two missing, 15 injured in trawler sinking in Chandpur.Two persons were missing and about 15 others were injured when a trawler sank in Dakatia river on the west side of Shahtali Bazar in Chandpur Sadar upazila.
It is learned that a trawler left from Paikdi village of Chandpur Sadar upazila around 8:30 pm on Sunday, February 21.
The trawler sank in the river on the west side of Shahtali Bazar when it was actually lifted over the sandbag Bolgate trawler coming from behind. At that time, 15 people in the trawler were injured and 2 went missing.
The missing persons are trawler driver Md. Quddus Bepari (52) and passenger Pinki (8).
The injured are: Ratish (52), Shukumar (45) and Shanjit Das (36). The rest of the injured are being treated at different places including Chandpur. The missing persons were not found till the writing of the report.
