Speaking as the chief guest at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected mayor and councilors of Chandpur Municipality, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni MP said, “We will work together to fulfill the dreams of the people of Chandpur.
The 125-year-old Chandpur municipality has a long history and tradition. Our duty is to fulfill the sacred trust of the people by performing our duties with honesty and devotion. This is our promise that the elected representatives of Chandpur Municipality will fulfill it.
She was speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of Chandpur Municipality Mayor and reserved women councilors and general councilors at Chandpur Municipal Council auditorium at 11:30 am on Saturday.
The Education Minister further said, “We are the soldiers of Bangabandhu’s ideology and the workers of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
The winners of this year’s Chandpur municipality are going on a new journey with a bunch of bright and youthful people’s representatives.
The elected representatives of this municipality will fulfill many better expectations in the continuity of history and tradition. The Election Manifesto is the constitution of overall development for elected municipal mayors and councilors. I will stand by the side all the time.
In her speech, she thanked and congratulated the people of Chandpur municipal for this.
She also thanked and congratulated the district administration of Chandpur, the police administration, the election commissioner and all the concerned Awami League leaders of the district, as well as the election management committee.
The program was conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) of Chandpur District Administration Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman.
Chandpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Majedur Rahman gave welcome speech at the swearing in ceremony. Shortly afterwards, Chattogram Divisional Commissioner ABM Azad NDC read the oath of the elected mayor and councilor and gave a short speech expressing his feelings.
Chandpur Superintendent of Police Md. Mahbubur Rahman PPM, elected Mayor Adv. Zillur Rahman Jewel, Women Councilor Ayesha Rahman and General Councilor Iqbal Hossain Babar Patwary also Express their speech.
Chandpur District Awami League Vice-President and Convener of Municipal Election Management Committee ZR Wadud Tipu and former Municipal Chairman Md. Yusuf Gazi, Chandpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Nurul Islam Nazim Dewan, Haimchar Upazila Parishad Chairman Nur Hossain Patwary, Sadar Vice Chairman Ayub Ali was present at the swearing-in ceremony.
