World Consumer Rights Day is celebrated in Chandpur today, March 15. Consumer Rights Day is celebrated in Chandpur today, March 15, at 10 am with the theme of ‘Swear in the year of Mujib; prevent plastic pollution’. In this regard, Chandpur district administration has organized a special program on the day of protection of consumer rights.
The program includes human chain and discussion meeting in front of Chandpur district administration at 10 am, video exhibition, day-long road show and documentary exhibition. On the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day, a discussion meeting was held at 10:30 am in compliance with the rules and regulations.
Deputy Commissioner Anjana Khan was the chief guest at the discussion meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) and Deputy Director Mohammad Abdullah-al-Mahmud Zaman led the human chain and conducted the meeting.
Among others, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Sanjida Shahnaz, Superintendent of Police DIO Monir Hossain, Food Safety Officer Montashir Mahmud, District Food Controller Nityananda Kundu, Hotel Owners Association President Abdul Aziz Dewan and CAB representative Biplob Sarkar spoke.
In addition, executive magistrates, a team of fire service and senior officials of various departments of the district were present.
Nur Hossain, Deputy Director, Department of Consumer Rights Protection, addressed the meeting.
