30 kg hilsa seized during trafficking in India: Arrested 2

Two Trafficker, including 30 kg of hilsa fish, have been detained while smuggling to India along the Benapole border in Shore. Arfin and Bilal Hossain were arrested.

They were detained at Putkhali border at around 9pm on Sunday (September 22). Arfin Arfin was the son of Anar Ali of Putkhali village and Bilal son of Habibur Rahman of the same village.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Benapole Port Police Station (ASI) Rabiul Islam said the police, led by Sub Inspector HM Abdul Latif, on the basis of secret news, arrested them along with 5 kg of hilsa fish along the Putkhali market. They were preparing to smuggle hilsa fish into India.

A case has been filed with Benapole Port Police Station in this regard. They will be sent to Jessore court on Monday morning, he said.
