Virtual conference between Hasina-Modi today

A virtual conference between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to take place on Thursday, December 17. The meeting is scheduled to start at 11:30 am, an official said.

The two countries are jointly hosting some big events in 2021 and are looking forward to further strengthening cooperation in the post-Covid-19 period.

After the conference, Bangladesh and India will find ways to take the ‘strong and historic’ relationship between Dhaka and Delhi to the next level by expanding the areas of cooperation between them.

Bangladesh is celebrating the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman this year and will mark the 50th anniversary of the War of Independence and the establishment of bilateral India-Bangladesh diplomatic relations in 2021.

The MoU / Protocol signing ceremony will be held on the same day after the virtual conference. Four or five documents may be signed between Bangladesh and India.

“I do not comment before the meeting,” a senior official told on Tuesday evening. However, in addition to the inauguration of several development projects, there are four or five bilateral documents on the table for signing.

After the meeting, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen will hold a press conference at 2.30 pm.
