Day-long livestock exhibition fair in Chandpur

A day-long livestock exhibition has been held at Chandpur Sadar Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital. The exhibition was held at the ground of Chandpur Government Technical School and College from Saturday, June 5 in the morning. In this, farmers got the opportunity to display their livestock in 30 stalls.

Chairman of Chandpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Nurul Islam Nazim Dewan was the chief guest at the inauguration and closing ceremony.

Chandpur Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Sanjida Shahnaz, Upazila Youth Development Officer Monir Hossain, Chandpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Ayub Ali Bepari, Women Vice Chairman Abida Sifat, Principal Engineer of Government Technical School and College Md. Sirajul Islam, Upazila Livestock Officer Mohammad Mokbul Hossain, Upazila Fisheries Officer Sudip Bhattacharya, Superintendent of Police Inspector Enamul Haque Chowdhury and others were present in the function.

Upazila Parishad Chairman Nurul Islam Nazim Dewan said the amount of animal resources in the country has increased due to the enthusiasm and hard work of farmers. At one time there was a shortage of food for the people, but today the shortage of food has been eliminated through livestock farming.I think this type of exhibition fair will encourage the farmers.

He added that in the current budget, the government has provided subsidy on agricultural resources. Government and the livestock department will always be by your side.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sanjida Shahnaz said, ‘Livestock is playing a leading role in the development of the country. The government is also arranging various incentives in these departments. This is the high time for the youth to develop interest in these sectors.’

At the closing ceremony, prizes were distributed among the farmers who took part in the exhibition.
