North Korea Declares State Of Emergency

North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong-un has declared a state of emergency in the town of Kaesong on the country’s South Korean border to combat the coronavirus.

So far, North Korea has said it has no known Covid-19 patients. A man suspected of being infected with the coronavirus crossed the border illegally from South Korea this month. Kim Jong-un then called an emergency meeting of policymakers. Kim declared a state of emergency and issued a lockdown in the border town of Keasong.

He said authorities had taken steps to completely block the town of Keasong as the virus entered the country. He described the situation as “serious” and said the deadly corona virus had entered the country.

The suspect fled to South Korea three years ago. He returned to North Korea on July 19 after crossing the border illegally. At that time, he had symptoms of corona disease. The man was placed in quarantine after a respiratory and blood test, and an investigation has already begun to find out who came in contact with him.
